Do I have to install Prism?
No installation needed: unzip the folder and run prism.exe. Only the WebView2 Runtime is required, and it is already on Windows 11 and on up-to-date Windows 10.
Which maps can it play?
osu!mania (.osu), StepMania and Etterna (.sm, .ssc) and Quaver (.qua), in 4K to 7K, with taps and long notes.
How do I update?
From inside the game: Settings → About → Updates. See Updates and channels.
What does Prism send over the network?
Offline, almost nothing: the update check reads the site's releases.json and sends no identifier, and the map downloader contacts the third-party services listed in Your library only when you use it. Crash logs stay on your machine. If you sign in to your Prism account in the game, it also talks to prism.am: your account, the game server (who is online, lobbies, chat) and the ranked scores you play. Settings → Online → Offline mode keeps you signed in but sends nothing to the online services.
Can I use my osu! skins?
Yes, through the Convert an osu! skin card on the Skins page. It lists what cannot be converted. See Skins.
Can I import osu! replays?
osu!mania .osr replays (osu! stable or lazer) can be opened like Prism's own .pvreplay files, if the map is installed. See Results and replays.
Do I need an account?
No. The game is fully playable offline, without an account. A Prism account is only needed for the online features: your ranked scores, multiplayer lobbies and chat.
How do I get an account and use it?
Create it on this site (Create an account), confirm the e-mail address we send you, then sign in in the game (Esc menu → Online). Online features stay off until the address is confirmed. See Results and replays for the scores.
Are there online scores or multiplayer?
Yes, for signed-in players. A ranked play is sent to the game server, which replays it to check it and records it on this site. Each map has an online leaderboard, shown in the Online view of the leaderboard on the selection screen and on the map's page in Browse; anyone can read it, no account needed. Multiplayer lobbies (create one or join with a code) and a global and lobby chat are part of the game. Your scores, replays and account name are public: see the privacy policy.
Which languages are available?
English, French, Simplified Chinese and Korean.
Can I run stable and PBE together?
Yes, with separate data. See Updates and channels.
Which systems does it run on?
Prism is built for Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.
